About Us

Our Role

To empower families and give a voice to students, Bevell’s Advocate can perform the following services:

  • Composing requests, responses, and grievances to be sent to schools or other institutions
  • Preparing parents or guardians for IEP and 504 meetings, as well as reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy before and after the meetings. We may also accompany parents or guardians to IEP and 504 meetings to provide advice, mediation, and support
  • Assist families in navigating special education laws, processes, rules, and regulations applicable to their child’s situation
  • Assist parents or guardians with monitoring their child’s progress. If parents or guardians believe that their child is not progressing as expected or is regressing, Bevell’s Advocate can guide them through the necessary steps to address the situation.
  • Assist parents or guardians with applying for applicable financial assistance for their child’s individual needs
  • Provide parents or guardians with referrals for exceptional medical professionals in their area that serve their child’s individual needs (i.e. speech pathologists, family practitioners, etc.)
  • Connect parents or guardians with a social network of people in their community
  • And more!
